Thomas Mühlöcker

Thomas Mühlöcker was born on March 29, 1987 in Vienna, Austria, to a Japanese mother and an Austrian father. Growing up, he trained in the Chinese martial art Wushu, which later inspired his online moniker “WushuTM.” He studied at the Vienna University of Economics and shared an apartment with fellow Austrian pros Martin Finger and Kilian Kramer. Mühlöcker and Kramer were the subjects of the 2015 documentary In der Schwebe, which followed them on the European Poker Tour. He was also in a relationship with Spanish poker player Ana Márquez.

Mühlöcker began playing poker with his brother and quickly transitioned to online multi-table tournaments. Under the screen name “WushuTM” on PokerStars and 888poker, as well as “Tenkamusou” on Full Tilt and “onehundredeyes” on partypoker, he amassed over $11 million in online winnings, with the majority earned on PokerStars. A $33 satellite win on PokerStars earned him a seat at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), his first major live event.

Mühlöcker’s first live cash came in March 2009 in Vienna, but his first significant result was a 509th-place finish in the 2010 WSOP Main Event for $29,881. He continued to build his resume with a runner-up finish at the 2012 WPT Vienna Poker Festival for over €40,000.

His breakout moment came in September 2013 at the EPT Barcelona. Mühlöcker won the €10,300 High Roller for €390,700, defeating Daniel Negreanu heads-up. The victory put him on the international map and established him as a force in high-stakes tournaments.

In the 2020s, Mühlöcker became a regular on the Triton Poker Series. His career-best live cash came in 2024 at the Triton Jeju $100,000 Main Event, where he finished runner-up for $1,277,436. Later that year, he placed eighth in the Triton Monte Carlo $125,000 Main Event for $538,000. In 2025, he earned $768,170 for third place in the WSOP Paradise $50,000 High Roller. Recent results include a third-place finish in a Triton Montenegro $50K event in 2026 and deep runs at the 2026 WSOP and EPT Paris.

As of 2026, Mühlöcker’s live tournament winnings exceed $11.6 million, ranking him second on the Austrian all-time money list behind Matthias Eibinger. He has 22 WSOP cashes and multiple final tables on the EPT and Triton circuits. Despite not yet winning a WSOP bracelet, his consistent high-stakes success has made him one of Austria’s most respected players.

Mühlöcker is the embodiment of the modern, GTO-based player. His strategy relies on extreme technical precision, particularly in shorthanded and final-table situations.
