Poker Term

大盲位翻牌前下注-跟注干燥翻牌(BB Preflop Bet-Call Dry)

When in the big blind, after calling an opponent's raise preflop, on a dry flop, a play of betting first and then calling the opponent's raise.

Definition

BB Preflop Bet-Call Dry describes the action line where the Big Blind (BB), after calling a preflop raise from an opponent, faces a dry board (usually a low-coordination flop with three cards of different suits, lacking straight or flush draw possibilities), and chooses to actively bet and then call the opponent's raise.

Strategy Background

This term is common in cash games or tournaments in a preflop defending scenario. When the Big Blind calls a preflop raise and the flop is dry (e.g., A♠7♦2♣ or K♥8♠3♣), the Big Blind may use position disadvantage or range advantage to bet, aiming to squeeze the opponent's c-bet frequency or protect weak made hands. If the opponent raises, the Big Blind calls based on pot odds and opponent range.

Notes

  • "Dry" usually refers to low flop texture, but preflop itself has no community cards; the term implies flop characteristics.
  • This play requires the opponent to have some fold equity or the hand to have showdown value.
  • Overuse can lead to being exploited by opponent adjustments.
