大盲位湿润牌面延迟持续下注(BB Preflop Delayed C-Bet Wet)

A delayed continuation bet by the big blind after calling preflop, on a wet flop board.

Term Explanation

BB Preflop Delayed C-Bet Wet is a combined term describing a specific betting strategy by the Big Blind (BB) player. Here, "Preflop" refers to the pre-flop action, "Delayed C-Bet" means a delayed continuation bet, i.e., not betting on the flop but betting on the turn (or flop – but here "Preflop" modifies the BB's defensive call, not the timing of the bet); "Wet" refers to a wet board texture, where many draws are possible (e.g., straight and flush draw boards, connected boards).

Application Scenario

This strategy is commonly seen when the BB defends against a steal. For example: The button raises, the BB calls. The flop comes wet (e.g., 8♥7♥6♣), the BB checks, and the pre-flop raiser also checks. The turn brings a blank (e.g., 2♠), and the BB then bets. This bet is a delayed continuation bet because the BB did not bet on the flop but bet on the turn. Since the BB was the pre-flop caller, a flop bet by the BB is not strictly a continuation bet (which is typically made by the pre-flop raiser), but in practice the concept is analogous. On wet boards, a delayed bet can represent made hands or strong draws, putting pressure on the opponent.

Strategy Considerations

When using this strategy, one must evaluate board structure, opponent's range, and stack depth. On wet boards, a delayed bet can extract value and protect one's equity while exploiting the opponent's perceived weakness after they checked the flop. However, the frequency should not be too high to avoid being exploited.
