CO 100bb Call Off
CO 100bb Call Off
CO 100bb Call Off: Refers to the decision to call an opponent's all-in when holding approximately 100 big blinds in the cutoff position.
Overview
CO (Cut-off) is the position to the right of the dealer and offers positional advantage. With 100bb (big blinds) typically considered deep stacks, decisions in this situation must account for range, pot odds, opponent characteristics, and other factors.
Decision Factors
- Opponent's Range: Estimate the strength range of the opponent’s all-in, including the ratio of value hands to bluffs.
- Pot Odds: Calculate the odds required to call. For example, if the opponent shoves 100bb, the total pot after calling is about 201bb, requiring roughly 50% equity to break even.
- Your Own Range: The CO position is playable with deep stacks, but calling an all-in usually demands strong hands such as TT+, AQ+, etc. (precise range depends on the opponent).
- ICM Factors: In tournaments, stack depth affects ICM pressure. With deep stacks, the calling range can be slightly widened.
Strategy Example
Consider a cash game: the CO holds AKs, and the opponent shoves from the button for 100bb. The required equity to call is about 50%. AKs has roughly 55% equity against a range of 22+, AJ+, KQ+, so a call is profitable. However, with a middle pair like 88, caution is warranted as it often trails higher pairs.
Notes
At 100bb depth, avoid marginal hands when calling an all-in; prioritize strong hands or those with good blocking effects (e.g., AXs). Also, pay attention to dynamic information such as opponent’s stack size and historical behavior.
