CO位置150大盲反偷盲(CO 150bb Resteal)

CO 150bb Resteal

When holding a deep stack of about 150 big blinds in the CO position cutoff, a re-stealing strategy of re-raising against an opponent's blind steal attempt.

Overview

CO 150bb Resteal is an aggressive strategy in Texas Hold'em targeting blind stealing. It specifically refers to when in the CO position (cutoff, the first seat to the right of the button) with an effective stack depth of about 150 big blinds, re-raising (3-bet) against a later position (button or small blind) that is attempting to steal.

Strategy Background

In cash games or tournaments, when stacks are deep (e.g., 150bb), the CO position usually offers substantial post-flop maneuverability. At this point, players on the button or in the blinds may use their positional advantage to steal against CO's open raise (e.g., button 3-bet or small blind all-in). CO 150bb Resteal is a counter to such stealing, regaining initiative through re-raising and applying pressure with deep stacks.

Applicable Conditions

  • Effective stacks: about 150 big blinds; deep stacks support multi-street post-flop play.
  • Opponent range: opponent's stealing range is wide (e.g., button frequently 3-bets).
  • Position: CO is in a relatively advantageous position (but worse than the button). After re-stealing, if the opponent calls, does CO still have positional advantage? Note: After re-stealing, CO is usually out of position (since the button has position), but deep stacks allow skill to compensate.

Advantages and Risks

  • Advantages:
    • Punishes loose stealers, forcing opponents to fold or engage in deep-stack battles.
    • Utilizes the implied odds of deep stacks to play more complex post-flop situations.
  • Risks:
    • Large losses when encountering strong hands (e.g., AA/KK).
    • If the opponent 4-bets, CO must be cautious; under deep stacks, a 4-bet may represent a very strong range.

Typical Example

Assume blinds 1/2, effective stack 300 (150bb). CO opens to 6, button 3-bets to 18. If CO holds medium-strength hands like AJo or KQo, consider 4-betting to 40-50 to force the button to fold marginal stealing hands. If the button calls, both stacks are deep post-flop, and decisions must be made based on the board texture.

Notes

This strategy relies on accurate judgment of the opponent's range; avoid overusing it when the opponent's stealing range is very strong. Additionally, the sizing of the re-steal with deep stacks should be appropriate: too large may cause unnecessary losses, too small may not effectively force folds. Typically, a 4-bet size of about 2.5-3 times the 3-bet size is recommended.
