CO位面对3-Bet弃牌率(CO Fold to 3-Bet)

CO Fold to 3-Bet

The frequency with which a player in the CO position cutoff chooses to fold after opening and facing a 3-bet from an opponent.

Meaning and Calculation

CO [Fold to 3-Bet] is a statistic that measures a player's tendency to fold against a 3-Bet when in the CO position. It is calculated by dividing the number of times the player folds after opening and facing a 3-Bet by the total number of such situations (folds + calls + 4-Bets). This data is typically derived from a player's hand history and is commonly found in HUD displays.

Typical Ranges and Interpretation

  • Low (<40%): Indicates that the player rarely folds to a 3-Bet in the CO position and tends to defend or counterattack. This may mean that opponents find it difficult to force a fold even with a wider 3-Bet range. However, if it's too low (e.g., <25%), it could reflect that the player calls or 4-Bets too frequently and is exploitable.
  • Medium (40%-55%): The typical range for most regular players, showing a reasonable fold frequency in the CO position. This balances range protection without over-calling, while not giving up strong hands too easily.
  • High (>60%): Indicates that the player folds frequently to 3-Bets, which may mean they are overly afraid of 3-Bets or that their opening range is too weak. Opponents can exploit this by frequently 3-Betting to steal pots after the CO player opens.

Strategic Implications

The CO position is one of the more aggressive positions on the table, and a player's opening range is usually wide. The appropriate fold-to-3-bet rate depends on several factors:

  • Opponent's 3-Bet Frequency: If the opponent 3-bets frequently, a high fold rate leads to losses; you should increase 4-bets or calls.
  • Effective Stack Depth: With deep stacks, you can call 3-bets more often with hands like suited connectors, lowering your fold rate. With shallow stacks, the fold rate tends to be higher.
  • Position and Range: The CO position is more likely to be 3-bet by the blinds than the BTN (button), and without positional advantage, the fold rate is usually slightly higher than from the BTN.

Players should adjust based on their own data: If CO Fold to 3-Bet is too high, reduce the number of weak hands in your opening range or increase 4-bet bluffs against certain opponents. If it's too low, tighten your opening range or fold more against aggressive 3-bettors.

Limitations

This statistic has limited meaning when used alone and should be combined with other data (e.g., 3-Bet frequency, 4-Bet range) for a comprehensive assessment. Additionally, with a small sample size, the statistic is unreliable; usually, hundreds of hands are needed to reflect a true tendency.
