CO位湿润转牌(CO on Wet Turn)

CO on Wet Turn

CO on wet turn Refers to the strategic situation faced by a player in the cutoff position when the turn card makes the board wet i.e., multiple drawing possibilities.

Position and Board Texture

CO (Cut Off) is the position to the right of the button, typically having later action but after the button. A wet turn refers to a turn card that increases the likelihood of a straight or flush draw, e.g., flop Ts-8c-6d, turn 7h, creating a 6-7-8-T straight board.

Strategic Considerations

In the CO position on a wet turn, one generally needs to evaluate hand strength more carefully. If the CO bet on the flop with top pair or a draw, and the turn completes a draw, they may face the threat of a raise or a [check-raise]. Common plays include:

  • [Continuation bet] only when the hand can withstand a raise or has drawing potential.
  • Check when the hand strength is moderate or weak, and there is concern about the opponent holding a strong hand.
  • [Check-raise] as a semi-bluff, using position to gain information on later streets.

Range and Opponents

The CO's range is typically wide, but on a wet turn, hands that are easily outdrawn should be removed. Consider the button or blind ranges, as they may hold more draws or made hands.

Example

Flop A♠-K♠-T♠, turn J♦ (creating an A-K-T-J straight board). If the CO holds A♣-Q♦, they only have top pair and may have to fold to a bet.
