Poker Term

关位翻牌前下注-跟注彩虹牌面(CO Preflop Bet-Call Rainbow)

In No-Limit Texas Hold'em, a situation where a player in the CO cutoff position initially bets pre-flop, then calls after an opponent raises, and the flop comes with three cards of different suits.

Term Composition

  • CO: Abbreviation for Cutoff, referring to the cutoff position (the first seat to the right of the dealer).
  • Preflop Bet-Call: First bet preflop, then call the opponent's raise.
  • Rainbow: The flop consists of three cards of all different suits (e.g., hearts, spades, diamonds), meaning there is no possibility of a flush draw on the flop.

Strategy Background

From the CO position preflop, it is a favorable late position, and players often open-raise with a wide range. When facing an opponent's 3-bet, the CO player may call with strong hands (e.g., big pairs, strong high cards) or playable hands (e.g., suited connectors), resulting in a "Bet-Call" scenario.

If the flop is a rainbow texture, flush draws are eliminated, simplifying range analysis. At this point, the CO player needs to evaluate the interaction with the opponent's range based on the flop structure. For example, a dry rainbow flop (e.g., A72) favors top pairs, while a wet rainbow flop (e.g., T98) favors straight draws.

Typical Example

Suppose the CO player open-raises with A♠Q♣, the button re-raises, and the CO calls. The flop comes K♥7♠2♦ (rainbow). At this point, the CO player has no made hand yet and must decide whether to continue based on the opponent's tendencies.

Notes

This term describes a specific scenario rather than a universal strategy. Actual decisions should consider factors such as stack depth, opponent style, etc.
