CO位翻前延迟持续下注(干燥牌面)(CO Preflop Delayed C-Bet Dry)
After raising from the CO position preflop, checking on a dry flop, then making a continuation bet on the turn.
Overview
CO Preflop Delayed C-Bet Dry is a post-flop strategy that combines positional advantage with board structure, commonly seen in online multi-table tournaments or cash games. The player in the cutoff (CO) raises first in pre-flop, and on a dry flop (e.g., a rainbow board with no straight or flush draws, such as K♠7♦2♣), chooses to check instead of c-betting immediately, then fires a delayed c-bet on the turn.
Strategy Principles
- Reason for skipping the C-Bet on a dry flop: On a dry board, the pre-flop raiser has a significant range advantage, but opponents may call the flop with weak pairs or high cards. Checking can induce opponents to bluff on the turn or give a free card. If you c-bet the flop, opponents are likely to fold, preventing you from extracting additional value.
- Advantages of the delayed bet: A turn bet can represent a stronger range while leveraging the CO's pre-flop raiser image, forcing opponents to fold to a larger bet on the turn. This is especially efficient when the turn is a blank (e.g., 2♠ or 5♥).
- Application scenarios: Suitable against tight-aggressive or passive opponents, and when your hand has showdown value on the flop but is not strong enough to continue betting. For example, holding A♠K♣ on a K♠7♦2♣ flop, checking and then betting on a blank turn can extract value.
Notes
- Do not overuse the delayed c-bet, as opponents will adjust by raising or calling on the turn.
- On dry boards, if the turn completes a draw (e.g., opponent holds a backdoor flush), evaluate carefully.
- This strategy is more effective with deep stacks; with short stacks, a direct C-Bet is preferable.
