CO位转牌圈过牌-弃牌于单色牌面(CO Turn Check-Fold Monotone)
In the Cut-off position, on a monotone turn board all community cards of the same suit, the action line of checking first and then folding to a bet.
Term Understanding
CO Turn Check-Fold Monotone describes a defensive strategy in a specific scenario: the player is in the CO (Cut-off, the position to the right of the dealer), the action reaches the turn, and the board is Monotone (i.e., all flop and turn cards are of the same suit, e.g., flop is ♠A♠K♠2, turn is ♠5). At this point, the player chooses to Check, and plans to Fold if facing a bet from the opponent, unless the subsequent card changes the situation.
Strategic Background
A Monotone board is a typical "wet board," where flush draws or made flushes are very likely. Since the CO position may have a wide range preflop, but on a monotone turn, the CO's range often lacks enough flush combos to sustain aggressive bets from the opponent.
Check-Fold is a conservative exploitative play suitable for the following situations:
- Your hand has no flush draw or made flush, and is weak (e.g., top pair weak kicker, middle pair, bottom pair);
- The opponent's range contains many flush draws or made flushes, and the bet size is large;
- Your table image is tight, and folding avoids paying off strong hands.
This line is common in multiway pots or heads-up post-flop after a preflop raise. However, it is not GTO optimal because frequent Check-Fold allows the opponent to exploit this tendency by bluffing. A balanced approach is to occasionally Check-Call or Check-Raise with flush draws or high cards.
Notes
- This term is descriptive only, not a fixed strategy name;
- In actual play, whether to choose Check-Fold depends on opponent tendencies, stack depth, pot odds, and other factors;
- When facing aggressive opponents, consider increasing Check-Call frequency to avoid being exploited by excessive folding.
