关煞位转牌延迟持续下注动态(CO Turn Delayed C-Bet Dynamic)

After checking on the flop, a continuation bet delayed C-Bet on the turn, considering the position and range interaction of the cutoff CO player.

Meaning

CO Turn Delayed C-Bet Dynamic refers to the decision situation where the player in the Cutoff (CO) checks the flop and then bets on the turn. This bet is called a "Delayed C-Bet", typically used when the flop was not c-bet but the turn seems more suitable for a bluff or value bet. Due to the positional advantage, the CO can observe the actions of the Button (BTN) and the blinds, so its delayed c-bet strategy differs from other positions.

Strategic Principles

The core of a delayed c-bet lies in: checking the flop avoids being raised or makes opponents think your range is weak, while betting the turn can exploit the turn card's effect on both ranges. When the CO uses a delayed c-bet, consider the following dynamics:

  • Opponent Reactions: After checking the flop, betting the turn may make opponents believe you have a made hand or a draw; balance between value and bluff is needed.
  • Board Texture: Whether the turn improves your range (e.g., completing a straight or flush) or helps opponents (e.g., overcards).
  • Positional Advantage: The CO still has some positional advantage on the turn, but the BTN's calling range must be noted.

Typical scenario: The flop is wet (e.g., two-suited + connected), the CO checks, the turn is a blank, and the CO can bet as a bluff, representing a top pair or a completed draw. If the turn is a dangerous card (e.g., completes a straight), checking may be more preferable.

Notes

  • Avoid overuse: Frequent delayed c-bets lose balance and become exploitable.
  • Pay attention to opponent tendencies: If opponents like bluff-raising on the flop, a delayed c-bet can induce a raise on the turn.
  • Be cautious in ICM (tournament) situations: Chip risk from delayed c-bets should be adjusted according to tournament stage.
