HJ位翻牌前加注-弃牌动态(HJ Preflop Raise-Fold Dynamic)

Refers to the change in the tendency of subsequent players to fold after the HJ position player raises preflop, and its impact on strategy.

Concept

HJ (Hijack) is the second seat to the right of the button, positioned before the CO (Cutoff) and after MP (Middle Position). The preflop raise-fold dynamic describes how the frequency of folds from subsequent positions (CO, BTN, blinds) changes after an HJ raise, and how this change in turn affects the HJ’s raising strategy.

Strategy Impact

  • If subsequent players fold frequently, the HJ’s raise effectively steals the blinds, allowing a wider raising range (e.g., adding more speculative hands or small pairs).
  • If subsequent players have a high 3-bet tendency, the HJ must tighten the raising range and increase defense against 3-bets (e.g., 4-betting or calling).
  • The dynamic is also influenced by player types: tight players lead to higher fold rates; loose-aggressive players lead to lower fold rates.

Common Adjustments

In practice, professional players observe in real time the fold rates of each position after an HJ raise (i.e., fold to preflop raise), and dynamically adjust the HJ’s raising frequency and hand strength requirements. For example, when the blinds defend frequently, the HJ should choose stronger hands to raise; when the blinds fold too often, the HJ can increase blind-stealing frequency.

Notes

This dynamic is not a fixed value; it must be continuously adjusted based on opponents’ tendencies at the table. Additionally, one’s own image affects subsequent players’ reactions, creating a mutually reinforcing cycle. Understanding and exploiting this dynamic is a key skill for advanced players.
