The core of this strategy is "light," meaning a wide range rather than waiting for strong hands.
Applicable Scenarios
- High opponent fold-to-steal rate: When blind players fold frequently (e.g., over 70%), the profit margin of light stealing increases significantly.
- Moderate stack depth: Typically suitable for medium or deep stacks (around 40-100 BB). Too shallow (below 20 BB) incurs excessive risk.
- Opening frequency: Generally used when no one has entered the pot. If someone has limped in, the range must be adjusted.
- Dynamic adjustment: Frequency should be adjusted based on opponents' restealing tendencies. Against aggressive players, reduce stealing and increase value range.
Risks and Considerations
- Resteal: Blind players may counter with a 3-bet, so the light steal range must tolerate some risk. If opponents re-steal frequently, tighten the range or incorporate a 4-bet strategy.
