Poker Term

翻牌前三条街下注(非标准术语)(Preflop Triple Barrel)

An unconventional poker term, usually referring to a sequence of bets across all four streets starting from preflop preflop, flop, turn, river. However, in standard usage, Triple Barrel refers only to betting three consecutive streets postflop.

Overview

Preflop Triple Barrel is not a standard poker term; it is often seen in beginner misuse or informal specific contexts. In standard poker terminology, Triple Barrel refers to consecutive bets on the flop, turn, and river (i.e., three streets of betting). Preflop, however, usually involves one or more raises (such as limp, raise, 3-bet, 4-bet, etc.) and is not described with the term barrel.

Possible Meanings

  • If forced to interpret as a "four-street betting" strategy (betting preflop, flop, turn, and river), it would be more appropriately called Quadruple Barrel, but that term is also rarely used.
  • Another possibility is the mistaken use of Triple Barrel to describe multiple preflop raises (e.g., 3-bet, 4-bet, 5-bet), but this is a conceptual confusion.

Actual Usage

In formal poker literature or training, Preflop Triple Barrel almost never appears. Players more commonly use Triple Barrel to describe aggressive postflop play, while preflop aggression is typically described by the number of raises (e.g., 3-bet pot, 4-bet pot) or by ranges. If you encounter this term, it may be a writing or translation error.
