加注泡沫期(Rebuy Bubble)
Rebuy Bubble
In a poker tournament that allows rebuys, the brief period just before the rebuy period ends and rebuys are no longer allowed.
Overview
The rebuy bubble refers to the critical phase just before the end of the period in a poker tournament during which players are allowed to rebuy or add-on. Typically, the tournament closes the rebuy window at a specific blind level or time point, after which all players must continue with their current chip stacks. The rebuy bubble begins approximately one level or a few hands before the window officially closes.
Strategic Significance
During the rebuy bubble, players' strategies change significantly:
- Aggressive players: Tend to take advantage of the last opportunity to maximize their chip counts, even making raises or all-ins with marginal hands, because once the window closes, they cannot add chips.
- Conservative players: May be more cautious, avoiding excessive chip loss before the window closes, in order to survive under the basic chip structure.
- Chip leaders: Can use the bubble to put pressure on other players, especially those looking to boost their stacks before the window closes.
Difference from the Regular Bubble
The regular bubble (money bubble) is the phase just before reaching the payout positions when players adopt conservative strategies to avoid elimination. In contrast, the rebuy bubble focuses on the imminent loss of the rebuy right, where players may be more willing to take risks to increase their chips rather than avoid being knocked out.
Example
In a tournament that allows unlimited rebuys during the first three levels, after which the rebuy window closes and the freezeout phase begins, as the third level approaches its end, players evaluate whether to make a final rebuy. This is the rebuy bubble. Some players might push all-in with a wider range than usual, attempting to double up before the window shuts.
