实时辅助禁令(RTA Ban)

RTA Ban

禁止在线上扑克中使用任何实时辅助工具(RTA)的规定,旨在维护游戏公平性。

Overview

RTA (Real-Time Assistance) refers to real-time decision support provided to players during gameplay via external software, plugins, or algorithms, such as equity calculation, range analysis, or recommended actions. RTA Ban is a prohibition enacted by online poker platforms or tournaments against such behaviors, typically explicitly forbidding the use of any automated decision-making tools or real-time data assistance. Violators may face penalties including account suspension, forfeiture of winnings, etc.

Background and Purpose

With the development of artificial intelligence and poker solvers, some players have used RTA to gain unfair advantages in online games, severely disrupting competitive balance. One of the core aspects of poker is information asymmetry and decision-making reasoning, whereas RTA directly outsources complex calculations, undermining the value of human skill. The strict enforcement of RTA bans aims to protect the strategic depth and integrity of the game, ensuring outcomes primarily reflect players' genuine abilities.

Enforcement Methods

Platforms typically detect RTA through the following means:

  • Analyzing players' decision time patterns (abnormally consistent or extremely fast)
  • Comparing player behavior with the consistency rate of solver recommendations
  • Monitoring background processes or suspicious software Penalties for RTA Ban vary by platform, commonly including warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans. Major online events (e.g., WSOP Online) and most mainstream platforms explicitly prohibit RTA.

Controversies and Challenges

Defining the boundaries of RTA presents difficulties: Does a tool that only provides pot odds calculations without recommending actions constitute RTA? Does manually entering hand information into an offline solver violate rules? Different platforms may have different regulations. Additionally, detection techniques cannot fully cover all variants, and some players can still use RTA covertly. This drives the industry to continuously update anti-cheating measures and rule details.
