小盲翻牌前下注-弃牌(湿润翻牌倾向)(SB Preflop Bet-Fold Wet)
Small blind SB voluntarily bets raises preflop, folds if facing a re-raise; this strategy is primarily applied in scenarios where the flop is likely to be wet coordinated/connected.
Overview
SB Preflop Bet-Fold Wet is a preflop strategy for the Small Blind position. Its core idea: from the Small Blind, bet (usually raise) with a certain range of hands, and if the opponent (typically the Big Blind) re-raises (3-bet), fold immediately without seeing the flop. The term “Wet” in this context does not refer to the preflop board (since there are no community cards preflop), but rather to the potential flop structure the strategy targets – i.e., wet flops where many draws (such as flush or straight draws) are likely. Because the Small Blind is out of position postflop and faces difficult decisions on wet flops, this preflop bet-fold strategy avoids committing more chips in unfavorable situations.
When to Use the Strategy
This strategy is typically applied when the Small Blind is up against an aggressive Big Blind player, or when the Small Blind holds hands that are moderately weak but still have some value. For example, the Small Blind holds A9o, K8s, etc., raises preflop, and folds if the Big Blind 3-bets. This way, you can steal the pot (if the Big Blind folds) while controlling risk (avoiding playing a large pot out of position).
Notes
- The preflop bet size should be moderate, typically a standard raise (2.5–3 big blinds), avoiding overly aggressive sizing that can be easily exploited.
- This strategy requires the Small Blind to accurately assess the opponent’s 3-bet range. If the opponent 3-bets too frequently, adjust the strategy – for example, by widening your 4-bet range or simply folding.
- The “Wet” element is more of a theoretical consideration; in practice, you still need to account for opponent tendencies and stack depths.
