小盲河牌同花面下注-弃牌(SB River Bet-Fold Monotone)
SB River Bet-Fold Monotone
Action where the small blind player bets on a monotone river board and then folds to a raise.
Overview
SB River Bet-Fold Monotone is a common river play in Texas Hold'em, especially in heads-up or short-handed games. The term consists of four elements: position (SB, small blind), street (River), action (Bet-Fold, betting first then folding), and board texture (Monotone, all community cards of the same suit).
Strategic Background
When the river board is Monotone (e.g., three or four cards of the same suit), the board texture is very strong, making made flushes highly likely. As the small blind, the player typically has a wider range because they have already invested half a big blind preflop.
Betting Motive
- Value Bet: If the small blind holds a strong hand such as a flush or full house, they bet to extract value.
- Bluff Bet: If the small blind does not have a made hand, they may bluff using the board's threat, since a Monotone board easily makes opponents worry about a flush.
Reason for Folding
When an opponent raises, it usually indicates they hold at least a strong flush, possibly even the nut flush. Since the small blind might only be bluffing or holding a marginal value hand, the pot odds become unfavorable after the raise, prompting a fold.
Typical Example
Assume a blind level of 50/100 with an effective stack of 5000. The small blind holds A♠K♣, the flop is 6♥7♥8♥, the turn is J♥, and the river is 2♥. The community cards are four hearts, making a Monotone board. The small blind bets 800, and the big blind raises to 2500. Since the small blind has no hearts and the big blind may hold a made hand like Q♥ or 9♥, the small blind chooses to fold.
Notes
- This play is not mechanical; adjustments are needed based on opponent tendencies, bet sizing, stack depth, and other factors.
- In multi-way pots, the frequency of raises on Monotone boards usually decreases, so the small blind's Bet-Fold may be less effective.
- Professional players sometimes deliberately bet weak made hands (e.g., two pair) on Monotone river boards to induce bluffs, but may still consider folding if raised.
