小盲位河牌同花面第三次下注(SB River Double Barrel Monotone)

SB River Double Barrel Monotone

The strategy of the small blind player continuing to bet on the river on a monotone board after having bet on the flop and turn.

Overview

SB River Double Barrel Monotone is a poker term for a specific scenario, describing the action of a small blind (SB) player who has already made consecutive bets on the flop and turn (i.e., a Double Barrel) and then bets again on the river when facing a monotone (i.e., suited) board. In fact, this constitutes three consecutive bets (Triple Barrel) on the flop, turn, and river, but the term emphasizes that the river bet is made on a monotone board.

Position and Betting Pattern

Due to positional disadvantage, the small blind usually needs to be more cautious when choosing bluffs and value bets. When the SB has bet consecutively on the flop and turn, a river bet represents a very strong hand or a well-structured bluff. On a monotone board, the SB may hold a flush or a nut flush draw, or may use the monotone board to bluff, as the monotone board restricts opponents' calling ranges.

Board Texture

"Monotone" refers to a board where at least four cards of the same suit appear across the flop, turn, and river, creating a flush possibility. On such a board, the value of made flushes or flush draws changes. When the SB bets on the river, they need to consider that the opponent may have already completed a flush, or that the opponent may fold out of fear of the flush.

Strategic Significance

This term is often used to analyze the SB's aggressive betting strategy on the river. If the SB holds a flush, it is a value bet; if the SB is bluffing, they use the intimidation of the monotone board to force the opponent to fold. A typical example: the SB bets on the flop with a draw, continues betting on the turn, and then bets again on the river after completing the flush; or bets on the river without completing the flush, representing a flush.

Notes

Not all SB river bets on a monotone board are referred to by this term; it specifically refers to situations where there have already been two previous bets. The term "Double Barrel" usually refers to two bets on the flop and turn, but here, due to the river bet, it should be understood as the last of three bets.
