T8不同花(Ten Eight Offsuit)
Ten Eight Offsuit
ten-eight-offsuit A starting hand in Texas Hold'em consisting of a ten and an eight of different suits.
Overview
Ten-Eight Offsuit (T8o) is a typical junk hand. In Texas Hold'em, hand strength is primarily determined by card combination, flush potential, and connectedness. T8o is unpaired, offers no flush draw potential, and has a gap of two ranks between the cards, placing it in the mediocre-to-poor range of connectedness. It struggles to form straights (requiring specific flops like J-9-7 or 9-7-6, etc.).
Strategy Advice
- Early Position: Usually fold outright, especially in a full-ring game (9-handed).
- Mid-to-Late Position: When unraised and pot odds are favorable (e.g., cheap entry from the small blind), you can occasionally limp or steal blinds. However, overall preflop equity is below 50%, and postflop play is easily dominated.
- Postflop: If you hit top pair (e.g., flop T-x-x), beware of your weak kicker (8) and watch out for opponents holding bigger top pairs (e.g., A-T, K-T, etc.). If you flop a straight draw, consider continuing based on pot odds.
Typical Situations
Example: Players who fold preflop over 80% of the time will simply fold T8o. On the button against a small blind with a high fold-to-steal rate, you might consider raising to steal with T8o.
