UTG+1 Fold to C-Bet is a HUD (Heads-Up Display) statistic commonly used in online poker. It measures how often a player, when seated in the UTG+1 position (under the gun plus one), folds to a continuation bet on the flop after they raised preflop. This stat helps opponents assess a player's postflop tendencies and adjust their c-betting strategy accordingly.

Calculation

The stat is calculated as: (Number of times the player folded to a c-bet as the UTG+1 preflop raiser) / (Total opportunities to face a c-bet as the UTG+1 preflop raiser). Only hands where the player raised preflop from UTG+1 and faced a c-bet on the flop are counted. Actions on later streets are not included.

Typical Values & Interpretation

• High Fold to C-Bet (e.g., >60%): Indicates the player is likely to give up easily when they miss the flop. Opponents can exploit this by c-betting frequently with a wide range, including bluffs, and by double barreling less often. The player may also be folding strong hands too much, making them profitable to bluff against.

• Low Fold to C-Bet (e.g., <40%): Suggests the player defends their preflop raises aggressively, either by calling or raising the c-bet. Opponents should c-bet with a more value-heavy range and reduce bluffing. This player may also be prone to slow-playing or check-raising, so caution is needed.

• Average (40-60%): Within normal range; no extreme adjustments necessary, but note that individual flop textures and player types affect the stat.

Usage in Strategy

When analyzing an opponent's UTG+1 Fold to C-Bet:

• If high, increase your c-bet frequency against them when in position, especially on dry or low boards.
• If low, consider checking back with marginal hands or drawing hands to avoid being check-raised.
• Compare with their overall Fold to C-Bet stat (from all positions) to see if position influences their tendency.
• Be aware that sample size matters: a small number of hands can lead to unreliable data. A minimum of 20-30 opportunities is generally recommended before drawing conclusions.

Limitations

• The stat does not distinguish between different board textures (e.g., wet vs. dry) or opponent types.
• It does not account for the player's c-bet sizing or their opponent's tendencies.
• The player's range and game state (e.g., ICM pressure in tournaments) can affect folding behavior.
