UTG+1翻牌前加注同花面延迟持续下注(UTG+1 Preflop Delayed C-Bet Monotone)

After raising from UTG+1 preflop, when the flop is monotone, the strategy of checking on the flop and then betting on the turn is a delayed continuation bet after a preflop raise.

Term Explanation

UTG+1 Preflop Delayed C-Bet Monotone is a combined strategy term describing the action of a player who raises preflop from UTG+1 (under the gun +1), then checks on a monotone flop (all three cards of the same suit), and subsequently makes a continuation bet (C-Bet) on the turn.

Strategy Principles

The purpose of a delayed continuation bet (Delayed C-Bet) is to conceal hand strength by checking the flop, inducing opponents to make more mistakes on the turn. This strategy is particularly effective on monotone boards, as the flop may have hit flush draws or made flushes. Checking the flop controls the pot and may make opponents fear the flush draw on the turn. As the preflop raiser, UTG+1 has a strong range, but a monotone board can threaten hands without a flush draw (e.g., overpairs, top pair with no draw). Delaying the bet puts opponents under greater pressure on the turn.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Opponents may hold many draws or weak hands on the flop, and after checking the flop, the turn card does not complete the flush (i.e., it is not a suit card).
  • After checking the flop, the turn card does not change the strength of drawing hands, but may cause opponents without draws to fold.
  • You hold a hand with showdown value but do not want to protect too much equity (e.g., top pair with a weak kicker or middle pair).

Considerations

  • This strategy does not apply to all UTG+1 monotone flops after a raise. If you check the flop too often, opponents may exploitatively bet frequently on the flop.
  • The turn bet size should consider pot odds and opponent range; typically recommended around 2/3 pot or slightly more.
  • If the turn completes the flush (fourth suit card), the effectiveness of the delayed bet diminishes, and you may even need to check-fold.

Typical Example

Suppose UTG+1 raises preflop, two players call. The flop is ♠9♠5♠2 (monotone). UTG+1 holds ♠A♠Q, flopping the nut flush draw but chooses to check. The turn is ♥K. UTG+1 bets 70% of the pot, forcing opponents to fold pairs without draws or drawing hands.
