River Dynamics

By the river, the situation after a Double Barrel becomes critical:

• If the river perfectly hits UTG+1's original range (e.g., completing a straight or flush), a third bet (triple barrel) or a check to induce a raise may be appropriate.
• If the river is a blank or an unfavorable card (e.g., busting a draw), UTG+1 must consider the opponent's range. If the opponent called two bets, the river may have improved their hand or they may hold a bluff-catcher. In this spot, continuing to bet (triple barrel) could be over-bluffing, while checking controls the pot and may induce a bluff from the opponent.
• The dynamic also involves bet sizing: typically, a Double Barrel turn bet is around 2/3 of the pot; if a river bet is made, the sizing should be adjusted based on the board and opponent.
