UTG+1河牌静态反偷盲(UTG+1 River Resteal Static)

On the river, the player in the UTG+1 position adopts a fixed range and sizing for a re-steal strategy, without adjusting based on board texture or opponent tendencies.

Overview

UTG+1 River Resteal Static is a poker river strategy where a player in the UTG+1 position (the seat to the immediate right of the under-the-gun position) uses a predetermined fixed range to re-raise (i.e., resteal) against an opponent's river bet, without dynamically adjusting based on board texture, opponent type, or bet size. This strategy is commonly seen in online low-stakes or beginner training scenarios, aimed at simplifying decision-making to avoid mistakes caused by insufficient information.

Strategy Principles

The core of static restealing lies in frequency rather than precision. The player must determine a static range (e.g., all hands with two pair or stronger, plus a certain proportion of bluff combos) and, regardless of the river card, raise the entire range whenever the opponent bets. This ensures a fixed overall raising frequency that is less exploitable by opponents. However, this strategy has a clear drawback: on river boards with high variance (e.g., made straight or flush boards), a static range can lead to over-bluffing or insufficient value.

Applicable Scenarios

This strategy is generally only suitable in situations with very little read on the opponent, such as multi-way pots, against unknown opponents, or in short-stack scenarios. In advanced games, players typically filter their range based on the specific river card and opponent's bet sizing; using a static strategy is often considered a leak.

Notes

  • The static range should include a mix of value hands and bluff hands, typically around a 2:1 ratio (value:bluff).
  • If the opponent frequently bets and folds at a high rate, static restealing may be profitable.
  • This static strategy does not apply to preflop or flop restealing; River Resteal Static specifically refers to the river betting round.
