枪口位延迟持续下注河牌同花面(UTG River Delayed C-Bet Monotone)

UTG River Delayed C-Bet Monotone

Refers to a strategy where a player in UTG position does not continuation bet on the flop or turn, and then makes the first bet on the river when the board is monotone.

Strategy Background

A Delayed C-Bet is a common strategy when there is no bet on the flop or when the turn card changes the board texture. UTG (Under the Gun) is an early position. After raising preflop and facing multiple opponents, if the flop misses a strong hand and the board is dangerous, checking controls the pot. On the river, if the board becomes monotone (flush possible) and the opponent shows weakness, a delayed bet can represent a made flush, forcing the opponent to fold.

Conditions for Use

  • The flop is wet or connected, making a continuation bet unsuitable.
  • The turn does not improve your hand, and the opponent's range is wide.
  • The river brings a flush (monotone) or a possible straight, and your range includes flush combos.
  • Opponents tend to fold after checking the flop and turn.

Example

You hold A♠K♠ UTG and raise, three players call. Flop: J♥8♥2♣, you check. Turn: 5♦, you check again. River: 3♥, the board now has three hearts (monotone). You bet about 2/3 pot, representing a big heart like the Ace or King, forcing opponents to fold hands like Jx.

Notes

  • If an opponent called on the flop, they may have a drawing hand; consider pot odds when delaying your bet.
  • On a monotone board, bet sizing should balance value and bluffs.
  • UTG players have a tight preflop raising range, so a delayed bet here carries high credibility.
