22 pocket twos is a small pocket pair among the 169 starting hands. The probability of flopping a set is about 11.8%; preflop equity against AK/AQ is roughly 50/50, more reliant on hitting a set; on a flop with three overcards, often only good for bluff-catching or folding. Only open from BTN with deep stacks or limp from SB cheaply; fold from other positions.

Strategi GTO

Post-flop without a set: fold to most standard c-bets; when you hit a set, play for value or slow-play to trap based on SPR. Multi-way pot without a set: almost always fold, don't comfort yourself with "cheap flop".

BTN	5BB or call. If the blinds are tight/weak, raise to steal the blinds. Otherwise, call to see the flop; high value after hitting a set.
SB
BB	If the raise size is less than 3BB and the opponent's range is wide, call to see the flop. After hitting a set, there is a chance to win a big pot.

After flopping a set, check-raise or bet 2/3 pot, because the wet board is likely to have draws; if you miss, check-fold to avoid being outdrawn by draws.

Paired board e.g. K♠K♦7♣

If you hit three of a kind with 2s but there is a pair on the board, bet 1/2 pot. The opponent may hold a K or be drawing to a full house. If you miss, check-fold because the opponent may already have a full house.

After hitting a set, bet 1/2 pot, but be aware of possible flush; if no set and no flush draw, check-fold, because 22 has no improvement potential.

Catatan matchup

AKo has 52% preflop equity, but is very weak postflop if it doesn't hit a set. Against TT+ big pairs, equity is only about 18%, so avoid going all-in. Against suited connectors e.g., 98s, equity is about 50%, but it's easy to get overtaken by draws postflop. Against Axs, equity is about 48%, but be cautious of flush draws. Key: The value of 22 mainly lies in hitting a set; otherwise, play conservatively.

MTT push/fold

At 15BB, only shove from CO, BTN, and SB; fold from UTG and MP. At 20BB, only shove from BTN and fold from all other positions, because 22 has less than 40% equity against a calling range e.g., 55+, AT+.
