J7o is the offsuit J7 combination, with pre-flop equity lower than J7s. It's a non-high card offsuit hand, post-flop often relies on hitting top pair with a weak kicker. Only open from the button with deep stacks or from the small blind at a cheap price to see the flop; fold from other positions.

J7o is mainly for stealing from CO/BTN; postflop, if you hit top pair, be aware of the kicker, and with second pair facing a raise, you often need to fold.

UTG	J7o from UTG in a 5-6 way pot has very low equity and is difficult to realize, with high risk of being dominated postflop. Even against loose-passive blinds, stealing is not recommended because their calling range includes many Kx and Qx hands that dominate your J and 7.
MP	Fold primarily. Unless all earlier positions have folded and the blinds are extremely tight, you can occasionally raise to 2.5BB to steal blinds, but be careful postflop. Must fold facing a 3bet, because J7o has less than 30% equity against a 3bet range.
CO	You can raise to steal the blinds, but only when players in later positions have folded and the blinds are tight-passive. Raise to 2.5-3 BB. If called, bet cautiously post-flop when you hit top pair or a draw. Fold to a 3-bet directly.
BTN	Must fold facing a 3-bet from SB/BB. Post-flop, if you hit top pair with J or 7, can value bet, but note the weak kicker, avoid large pots.
SB	Fold or very occasionally raise. Facing BB's defense, J7o is difficult to play postflop. If raising, recommend 3 BB, postflop continuation bet only on dry boards when hitting top pair or a draw.
BB	Facing a blind steal, you can call but need to be cautious. If the SB raises, you can call to see the flop, but fold post-flop if you don't make a hand. Against a CO/BTN raise, you can call to defend, but avoid big pots.

If the opponent raises, consider folding because J7o has a weak kicker and the opponent may hold K7 or 77.

Even if you hit a pair of sevens, it is easily outdrawn by a flush or Ace-high. Do not attempt to bluff, because the opponent's calling range includes flush draws.

Catatan matchup

Post-flop, it needs to hit a pair or a draw to compete, but AKo has a higher flop hitting rate. Against QQ, J7o has 46% equity and should avoid putting too much money in pre-flop, as QQ has strong post-flop dominance. Against 88, J7o has 54% equity and is slightly ahead, but 88 can easily become an overpair on low boards, so J7o must be cautious. Overall, J7o is best played when it hits a strong hand post-flop and should avoid confronting high pairs or high cards.

MTT push/fold

From SB, can shove against BB. At 15BB, only shove from late position when the blinds are tight, otherwise fold. At 20BB, shoving is not recommended; instead, raise to 2.5BB to steal blinds, and fold to a 3bet. J7o has low shoving value because it is easily dominated by calling ranges.
