Position guide

PositionAction
UTGContext: UTG position with 75s 75s from UTG is usually a fold because it's difficult to realize equity postflop and easily dominated. Only in very deep stacks (>200BB) and when players behind are tight, one can consider a very small raise (2-2.5BB) to steal blinds, but caution is needed.
MPContext: Hand position MP: 75s In MP position, 75s can occasionally limp or raise (2-3 BB), but the frequency should be low (<10%). If there is a raise from early position, usually fold; if many players limp in, you can call to see the flop, utilizing the flush potential.
COContext: Hand position CO: 75s From the CO, 75s can be raised (2.5-3 BB) to steal blinds, especially when players behind are tight-passive. If 3-bet, typically fold; if called, post-flop you can semi-bluff on wet boards using your range advantage.
BTNContext: Hand position BTN: 75s 75s on the BTN is a good stealing hand, can raise (2.5-3BB) or call. If the blinds are tight, increase raise frequency to 30%; if the blinds are aggressive, call to avoid folding to a 3-bet.
SB**Context: Hand position SB: 75s** In the SB position with 75s, you can call (complete the blind) against a raise from CO or BTN, especially when stacks are deep and the opponent's fold-to-3-bet is high. However, avoid 3-betting because the hand is too weak; play cautiously post-flop and avoid large pots.
BBContext: Hand position BB: 75s In the BB position, with 75s, you can call facing a raise from the small blind; facing a raise from other positions, if the pot odds are favorable (e.g., raise to 2.5BB, call 1.5BB with a pot of 3.5BB), you can call. Post-flop, be aware of reverse implied odds, and avoid over-investing on low pair boards.

Postflop board textures

Dry low board (e.g., 7♣2♦9♠)

Context: Hand board strategy: 75s 75s hits top pair of 7, you can bet (1/3-1/2 pot) for value, but note opponent may have an overpair. If you miss, you can small bet to represent 7x, but be cautious because on a dry board opponents are likely to fold.

Context: Hand board label: 75s Wet connected board (e.g. 9♠8♠7♥)

Hand board strategy: 75s When 75s flops a straight or flush draw, you can semi-bluff raise or bet (2/3 pot). If you only flop bottom pair, you can call to see the turn; if there are overcards on the board, fold. Be aware that opponents may already have a straight or flush.

Context: Hand board label: 75s Paired board (e.g. K♠K♦7♣)

Context: Hand board strategy: 75s With 75s, when hitting trips sevens on the board, you can slow play or bet (1/3 pot) to induce bluffs from opponents. If you miss, usually fold because opponents may hold Kx or pocket pairs. In multi-way pots, proceed cautiously with calls.

Context: Hand board label: 75s Monotone board (e.g. A♠8♠3♠)

Context: Hand board strategy: 75s When 75s has a flush draw, it can call or semi-bluff raise, but the opponent's range must be considered. If the flush does not hit and there is an Ace on the board, fold; if the flush hits, value bet. Be aware that the opponent may hold a higher flush.

Specific matchup notes

75s vs AKo: 43% preflop equity. If 75s hits a straight or flush postflop, it can dominate AKo; but if AKo hits top pair, 75s needs to be cautious. 75s vs QQ: 46% equity. QQ is an overpair, so 75s must rely on draws to win. If the flop contains a 7 or 5, 75s can bluff representing a made hand. 75s vs 88: 54% equity, slightly ahead. However, 88 can easily flop a set, so 75s should avoid paying off too much on low paired boards. 75s vs AQo: Approximately 42% equity, similar to AKo. But AQo is more likely to fold postflop, so 75s can attack its checking range.

MTT short-stack push/fold

Context: Hand push-fold: 75s When short-stacked in MTT, 75s at 10BB: Can push all-in (+EV) from CO or BTN, especially when blinds have high fold equity; fold from UTG or MP. At 15BB: Only push all-in from BTN or SB; fold from other positions. At 20BB: Only push all-in from BTN when opponents are tight-passive and there are few players behind; usually call or raise then fold. Note that the push EV of 75s depends on opponent's calling range; avoid facing big pairs or high cards.

Glossary

Glossary

Glossary

Glossary

[UTG](/term/utg)是“Under The Gun”的缩写,指[枪口位](/term/utg)置,即[大盲注](/term/big-blind)左侧的第一个位置。
