Wai Kiat Lee Secures Fourth Triton Title in $40K Mystery Bounty

The Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II continued with the fan-favorite $40,000 Mystery Bounty event, and Malaysian champion Wai Kiat Lee emerged victorious after an extraordinary comeback. Lee, who was on the brink of elimination on the bubble, claimed his fourth Triton title and a first-place prize of $619,000. He also made a strong start in the subsequent $50,000 event, finishing Day 1 in third place behind chip leader Mehdi Chaoui.

A Wild Final Day

The seventh event of the festival drew 133 entries, generating a total prize pool of $5,320,000. Half of that amount, $2,660,000, was allocated for placement payouts, while the other half formed the Mystery Bounties fund.

The tournament's defining moment came before the final table was set. In a remarkable four-way all-in, Lee held A♣ A♠ against Seth Davies' K♣ 9♠, Samuel Mullur's K♥ 9♥, and Phil Ivey's A♦ 9♦. The board ran out 7♣ 8♠ 7♥ Q♠ 2♠, giving Lee a massive pot, three bounty envelopes, and the chip lead. Having been close to elimination at the bubble, he entered the final table with triple the chips of the second-place stack.

However, the dynamics shifted as Lee lost several pots. Alex Anton and later Jamil Wakil took the lead, with Wakil eliminating Punnat Punsri and Anton in a triple all-in to enter heads-up play with nearly a 5:1 advantage. Lee doubled up early in the duel and gradually closed the gap. The lead swapped hands several times before the Malaysian player secured the victory.

This marked Lee's second Triton title of 2026. In addition to the $619,000 first-place payout, he collected at least $320,000 from the eight Mystery Bounty envelopes he opened.

Fresh off his victory, Wai Kiat Lee jumped straight into the event and secured third place with 1,460,000. Legendary Phil Ivey sits fourth with 1,455,000. Kayhan Mokri, Alex Boika, and Alejandro Lococo also feature in the top 10.
