Adrian Lambe

Adrian Lambe was born in Galway and raised in Mullingar, Ireland. He studied architecture at University College Dublin from 1989 to 1995, graduating with a BArch degree.

During his college years, Lambe worked at Bennett Construction, first on site and later in their offices, where he redesigned their offices—a project that gave him early hands-on experience in design and project management. After graduation, he joined Quilligan Architects for nearly three years.

Lambe began his long association with Douglas Wallace in 1998 as a designer architect. He quickly moved into retail design, working with prestigious clients such as Brown Thomas, Harrods, Hermès, and Bang & Olufsen. His work caught the attention of Bang & Olufsen, and he became their International Store Designer, based in Copenhagen and London, traveling the world to design retail spaces.

After the September 11 attacks, Bang & Olufsen closed his department, and Lambe returned to Douglas Wallace to head their new London office. He later became a Director of the Retail Design Group (2001–2007). In 2007, he co-founded Lambe & Tyndall with Paul Tyndall, focusing on boutique architectural and interior design services. He returned to Douglas Wallace as a Partner in 2013 and continues to lead their interior design practice.

Lambe’s work has earned awards, particularly in retail design for clients like Brown Thomas. He is known for his role in expanding Douglas Wallace’s competencies into retail, leisure, hospitality, and commercial interior design.

Lambe describes himself as having a passion for design rather than ambition. He enjoys the creative process and has built a career on delivering innovative, client-focused solutions.
