Christina Pie

Christina Pie is originally from China and later moved to Sydney, Australia. She learned poker by watching her husband play at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Within a year of taking up the game, she entered the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and won a bracelet.

In 1999, Pie won Event #16: $1,000 Ladies Limit Seven Card Stud at the WSOP, earning $34,000. She defeated a field of 85 entrants, including former champions Starla Brodie and Carolyn Gardner. At the final table, Pie held the chip lead and played aggressively, often raising to assert dominance. The win came on Mother's Day, a tradition for the ladies event.

Beyond her WSOP bracelet, Pie has multiple cashes:

Pie and her husband, who are both originally from China, once owned a restaurant in Sydney. They sold it to travel to the U.S. three or four times a year to play poker. Together, they won the mixed-doubles event at the Bicycle Club's Legends of Poker in the late 1990s.

Christina Pie is best known for her quick rise in poker, winning a WSOP bracelet just one year after learning the game. Her victory in the ladies event is a notable achievement in WSOP history, and she remains an inspiration for aspiring female players.
