David 'ODB' Baker is an American professional poker player with four World Series of Poker bracelets and over $8.3 million in live tournament earnings. Known for his expertise in mixed games and aggressive play, he won his first bracelet in 2012 and added a WPT title in 2019.
Early Life and Career
David Baker was born on July 14, 1972, in Connecticut, and later earned a finance degree from Auburn University. He was introduced to poker in college and began playing pot-limit Omaha at casinos in New Orleans in the mid-1990s, eventually playing at underground casinos in Houston. In 2004, he turned professional.
World Series of Poker Success
Baker's first WSOP cash came in 2004 in a $2,500 Limit Hold'em event (18th place). He made his first WSOP final table in 2007. His breakout came in 2010 with seven WSOP cashes, including a 17th-place finish in the Main Event ($396,967). He won his first bracelet in 2012 in the $2,500 Eight Game Mix ($271,312), defeating Greg Mueller heads-up. He added a second bracelet in 2019 in $1,500 Limit Hold'em ($161,139), a third in 2023 in $1,500 Razz ($152,991), and a fourth in 2025 in the $5,000 Seniors High-Roller ($646,845). As of 2025, he has 28 WSOP final tables and 162 money finishes.
