Eduardo de Mello

Eduardo de Mello (also known as Eduardo De Mello Schneider) is a Portuguese poker player who gained recognition for his participation in major European Poker Tour events. He is known for his solid play and deep run in the 2016 EPT Barcelona Main Event.

In August 2016, De Mello played in the €5,300 Main Event of the PokerStars EPT Season 13 Barcelona. The tournament attracted 1,785 entries and had a prize pool of €8,657,250. De Mello advanced through the early days and found himself on Day 2 with a moderate stack.

During Level 37 (blinds 300,000/600,000, ante 100,000), De Mello was in the small blind with 188,000 chips. Under the gun +1, Andrej Punka raised to 3,300 and was called by two players. On a flop, De Mello led out for 5,500. Punka raised to 11,000 and De Mello called. On the turn, De Mello moved all-in and was snap-called by Punka. De Mello needed a heart or a five to survive, but the river failed to improve his hand, sending him to the rail.

Based on this hand, De Mello displayed aggressive tendencies, leading out from the small blind on a flush draw and committing his stack on the turn. He demonstrated a willingness to gamble for his tournament life, a common trait in deep-stacked tournament poker.

Although De Mello did not capture a major title, his participation in one of the largest EPT Main Events highlights his presence in the European poker scene. He remains a respected figure among Portuguese poker players.
