Gareth Howard

Gareth Howard is a British poker player who works as a car body shop repairman. He hails from the United Kingdom and has competed primarily in European poker events.

Howard's biggest live tournament success came in April 2017 when he won the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Walsall Main Event. The tournament attracted 238 players and generated a £119,000 prize pool. Howard entered the final table as the chip leader with 1,547,000 chips. He made a heads-up deal with Alli Mallu, securing £28,845 for first place. During the event, Howard survived a dramatic bubble hand where his jack-ten suited made a flush against his opponent's pocket aces, and later improved to four of a kind (nines) on the river to eliminate Ming Ju. After his victory, Howard planned to use his prize money to fund a trip to Las Vegas.

Howard continued to find success in poker tournaments. In November 2025, he cashed for €5,859 in the Malta Poker Festival (MPF), likely in the €550 Grand Event where he advanced from Day 1e with 813,000 chips. In April 2026, he earned £3,615 in an APAT (Amateur Poker Association & Tour) event. These results demonstrate his consistent ability to compete in both UK and international poker events.

Outside of poker, Howard works as a car body shop repairman, a profession he has maintained alongside his poker career. He remains an active but relatively low-profile player on the tournament circuit.
