Greg Mueller

Greg Mueller was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, holds dual Canadian and German citizenship, and now resides in White Rock, British Columbia. Before becoming a poker player, he was a professional ice hockey defenseman. He joined the German league in 1992, playing for EC Hedos München, Maddogs München, and Ratinger Löwen. During a long road trip in his hockey career, he was drawn to poker. After retiring, he decided to pursue the game seriously, starting with low-stakes online tournaments and gradually moving to live events.

Mueller has performed exceptionally at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), winning three gold bracelets:

• 2009: At the 40th WSOP, he first won the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship for his first bracelet; just 11 days later, he took down the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout for his second, earning $194,909.
• 2019: At the 50th WSOP in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship, he defeated 172 players to win his third bracelet and $425,347.

As of 2019, he has 43 WSOP cashes totaling over $2.4 million. His best WSOP Main Event finish was 191st in 2017.

Mueller also performed well on the WPT:

• Best finish: 4th place in the 2005-2006 World Poker Challenge for $142,285.
• Other final tables: 5th place in the WPT Legends of Poker ($97,100), among others.

According to WPT official data, he has 10 WPT cashes, 2 final tables, and total WPT earnings of $454,172.

Mueller's style is described as tight-aggressive (TAG), but he is known for flexibly making deals at final table negotiations. His nickname "Full Blown Tilt" (FBT) comes from occasional exaggerated emotional outbursts at the table, but in reality he is a disciplined player who focuses on math and pot odds. He excels at applying pressure in deep-stack situations and often performs well in the late stages of large tournaments.

Outside poker, Mueller's hockey background makes him a unique figure in the poker community. He is low-key and not active on social media, but gained popularity through online platforms like Full Tilt Poker.
