Gregory Weber's early live tournament results include three cashes in WSOP Circuit events at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. In 2007, he finished 11th for $1,659; in 2011, he placed 41st for $630; and in 2013, he took 22nd for $1,253. These modest results laid the groundwork for his later success on the felt.

Weber's career-defining moment came during Season XVI of the World Poker Tour at the WPT Borgata Poker Open (2017-2018). He finished second, earning $471,059 – multiple years' worth of his firefighter salary. Notably, he almost missed Day 3 due to a work scheduling conflict but managed to attend and secure the life-changing result. Following this success, he played his first WPT event outside New Jersey at the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open in January 2018, where he planned ahead by taking time off work.

Despite his poker achievements, Weber struggled with a hidden gambling addiction. He lost all his poker winnings and went into six-figure debt, which led to depression, anxiety, and insomnia. His relationship almost ended due to his addiction. In 2020, he came clean and sought help through Gamblers Anonymous and a weekly recovery group led by Jeff Wasserman. Since then, Weber has become a consultant for EPIC Global Solutions, speaking to student-athletes about gambling-related harm. He continues to work as a firefighter and credits his recovery with giving him a second chance.
