Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton was born on September 6, 1985, in Syracuse, New York. His mother is a psychiatrist and his father is an English professor who introduced him to games of skill at an early age. Haxton played chess at the age of four and Magic: The Gathering by the age of ten, competing in both games before discovering poker in high school. He attended Brown University as a computer science major, but later switched to philosophy and completed his degree after taking time off to pursue poker full-time. His father later wrote a biography about his poker career titled Fading Hearts on the River: My Son’s Life in Poker.

After turning 18, Haxton started playing live poker at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York, beginning at $3/$6 limit before moving up.
