Jaime Branquinho first made waves in the Portuguese poker scene by winning the PokerStars Solverde Poker Season #9 in October 2012. Held in Portimão, the tournament attracted 207 players with a €110 buy-in. Branquinho entered the final table as chip leader and defeated David Rosado in heads-up play to claim the €5,220 first prize. At the time, he noted that “the cards have been kind to me,” and the victory propelled him into the Top 10 of the Portuguese live tournament rankings.

In May 2017, Branquinho cashed in a WSOP Circuit event at Casino Estoril, finishing 27th out of 469 entries in the €1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event for €2,734.
