Jarod Shawcross

Jarod Shawcross was born on 3 April 1972, and made his debut in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) on 8 April 1995 at the age of 23. He initially played for Subiaco, wearing jumper numbers 41, 32, 8, 38, and 9 across his seasons there from 1995 to 2000. In 1995 he played 8 games and kicked 10 goals, helping Subiaco to a 7-1 record in those matches. His best season came in 1999 when he booted 49 goals from 21 games, including a final tally of 15 wins and 6 losses for the team.

From 2001 to 2005, Shawcross transferred to Peel Thunder, where he became a key midfielder/defender. He recorded 243 disposals in 2001 (153 kicks, 90 handballs) and 289 disposals in 2002, along with 47 and 61 marks respectively. Over his career, he played 152 WAFL games—87 for Subiaco and 65 for Peel Thunder—scoring 136 goals and accumulating 795 disposals. His last game was on 7 May 2005.
