Julio Martini

Julien Martini's poker journey began in the Paris region, where he frequented associative poker clubs. In 2017, he moved to Taiwan to join his friend James Chen, and together they spent months studying the game to master high-stakes cash games.

Martini's breakout year came in 2018 when he became the youngest French player to win a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet, taking down the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event for $239,771. He defeated Kate Hoang heads-up, calling it a "dream come true."

In 2019, he finished runner-up in the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) for $2,974,000, marking his largest career cash to date. That same year, he also won a $10,000 Big Bet Mix title at the Poker Masters.

Post-pandemic, Martini continued his WSOP success at the 2021 WSOP Europe, winning two bracelets: the €2,500 Short Deck Hold'em event (€60,009) and the €2,000 8-Game Mix (€33,910). In the 2022 WSOP, he captured his fourth bracelet in the $10,000 Razz Championship for $328,906.

Martini has consistently performed in high-stakes events. He cashed for $107,752 in the €25,000 NLH Platinum High Roller at the 2022 WSOP Europe and placed 5th in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship in 2023 for $75,341. As of 2024, his total live earnings exceed $5.8 million.

Martini is known for his aggressive and versatile style, excelling in both tournaments and cash games. In 2019, he was selected for the $25k fantasy draft before the WSOP and earned the title of Player of the Year in France. He was also named one of the "10 Grand Masters of French Poker" by Live Poker magazine in 2020.
