Kirill Zagalsky was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Consulting from the Marshall School of Business between 2001 and 2004.

After graduation, Zagalsky began his career as a licensed Series 3 commodity broker, dealing in futures and options on energy and precious metals.
