Mark Randal Flowers Jr was born on August 9, 1988, in Greenville, North Carolina. He grew up in the area and was first introduced to poker during his sophomore year of high school. Shortly before his expected graduation in 2006, Flowers dropped out to focus entirely on his poker career. He began playing online poker in July 2006 under several screen names, most notably "RandALLin" on PokerStars, "ScoopAndStack" on Full Tilt Poker, "megustachips" on 888poker, and "HulluHumalassa" on TitanPoker. His online tournament winnings exceeded $5 million, with the majority earned on PokerStars. In 2013, he won a Spring Championship of Online Poker event, adding a major online title to his resume.

Flowers collected his first live tournament cashes in May 2007 at venues in New York and Minnesota, where players under 21 could legally compete. In early April 2008, he made a deep run at the European Poker Tour Main Event in Sanremo, Italy, finishing in 10th place for €49,800 (approximately $78,000 at the time). The following month, he won his first live tournaments at the East Coast Poker Championships, held at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. He took down a $300+40 No Limit Hold'em event for $35,000 and a $500+50 event for $71,000, establishing himself as a rising force in live poker.

Flowers' breakthrough on the World Poker Tour came in June 2009 when he won the WPT Barcelona Main Event, earning €277,000 (roughly $390,000). He then followed up with an even bigger victory in October 2010, taking down the WPT Main Event at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. That win paid $831,500, his largest live cash to date. At 22 years old, Flowers became the youngest two-time WPT champion in history, a record he still holds. His WPT accomplishments also include additional cashes and deep runs, cementing his reputation as a formidable tournament player.

Flowers is renowned for his hyper-aggressive playing style, often employing large bluffs and putting constant pressure on opponents. This approach made him a natural fit for televised high-stakes cash games such as High Stakes Poker, where his dramatic all-in declarations and animated table talk captivated audiences. His catchphrase "I'm all in!" and his nickname "The Mad Horse" became synonymous with his fearless, unpredictable approach.
