Mike Schneider

Mike Schneider was born on November 29, 1983, in Eagan, Minnesota. He graduated from Eagan High School in 2002, where he was active as a saxophone player in the school's Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota, earning a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in December 2006. His nickname in the poker world is "Schneids."

Schneider's first major breakthrough came in March 2006, at the age of 22, when he won the PartyPoker.com Million V cruise event, a limit Texas hold'em tournament. He defeated Kenna James in the final heads-up confrontation to take the $1,000,000 first prize. This victory instantly put him on the poker map and remains the largest single cash of his career.

Following his million-dollar win, Schneider continued to build an impressive tournament résumé, primarily in the Midwest poker circuit. In October 2006, he won the first event of the Fall Poker Classic hosted by Canterbury Park. The following year, in October 2007, he was named the Fall Poker Classic's Player of the Year.

In August 2008, Schneider won the Twin Cities Poker Open for $81,818. In October 2012, he captured Canterbury Park's first-ever HORSE event during the annual Fall Poker Classic, earning $9,894, and then followed it up by winning the 2012 Fall Poker Classic main event for $63,759. In August 2014, he won the Midwest Poker Classic event at Running Aces for $48,425.

As of 2014, Schneider's live tournament winnings exceeded $1,500,000. His career total has since grown to over $1,738,061, according to the Global Poker Index, which ranks him around 1622nd in the world. He has also recorded four money finishes at the World Series of Poker and one money finish on the World Poker Tour, though he has not yet won a WSOP bracelet or a WPT title.

Schneider is widely regarded as one of the top limit hold'em (LHE) players in the world. His style is characterized by solid, disciplined play, with a focus on exploiting opponents' mistakes in limit games. He has been a member of Team CardRunners, a group of sponsored professional poker players on Full Tilt Poker, which further cemented his reputation as a skilled and respected player.

In 2014, Schneider was inducted into the Minnesota Poker Hall of Fame, an honor that recognizes his contributions to the game and his success on the felt.
