Mina Tawfik

Mina Tawfik (often listed as MT Tawfik) is an American poker player based in Tampa, Florida. He has built a reputation as a regular in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker room, where he has recorded several deep tournament runs. His breakthrough victory came in 2022, cementing his status as a locally successful pro.

Tawfik’s biggest live cash to date occurred in March 2022 during the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Poker Classic. He entered Event 8, a $600 No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $30,000 guarantee, which drew 169 entries and generated a prize pool of $89,570. Tawfik dominated the final table, holding 60% of the chips when four-handed. After eliminating Filippos Stavrakis, he made a heads-up deal with Kenneth Ware, securing the title and top prize of $22,170, plus a $2,200 seat in the subsequent TPC Event 12. This win marked his first major trophy at the venue after several previous final table appearances.

In the same month, Tawfik also made deep runs in Event 1 of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa series. During Day 1B of the $400 No Limit Hold'em event, he led the field before and after the dinner break, finishing the flight among the big stacks with 338,000 chips. He also bagged a top stack in a $500 Mega Stack event, sitting second at one point with 279,500 chips. These results demonstrate his consistent ability to navigate large fields at the Tampa poker room.

Although detailed hand history is limited, tournament reports portray Tawfik as an aggressive player who can accumulate chips rapidly. In his Event 8 victory, he “dominated late to run over the final table,” and in Event 1B, he was the chip leader through much of the day. His willingness to make deal decisions indicates a pragmatic approach to maximizing value.
