Rodrigo Peñalver, a native of Argentina, began his poker career by grinding on online platforms before transitioning to live tournaments. He quickly established himself within the Argentine poker community as a disciplined and technically sound player.

Peñalver has made multiple cash finishes in World Series of Poker Circuit events. In November 2025, he placed 25th out of 331 entries in the $400 No-Limit Hold'em (Event #9) at the WSOP Circuit City Center Rosario, earning $800. Shortly after, he finished 64th out of 847 in the $500 Mini Main Event at the same venue, adding $1,100 to his bankroll. At the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas, Peñalver tackled the massive fields of the summer series. In a landmark victory, Peñalver won the Mistery Bounty event at the Santa Fe Series of Poker in Casino Santa Fe. The tournament attracted 186 entries with a 150,000 ARS buy-in. Peñalver defeated Juan Machado heads-up to claim the first-place prize of $3,450,000 ARS (approximately USD equivalent). The event also featured a high roller won by Facundo Fiorentino, son of legendary Argentine player Mónica Vargas.

Peñalver is recognized for his methodical, probabilistic approach to poker. He excels in the middle and late stages of tournaments, carefully managing stacks and exploiting opponent tendencies.
