Vincenzo Maio

Vincenzo Maio started playing poker 15 years ago, mainly online. Initially drawn to tournaments, he quickly developed a strong interest in cash games and studied through various poker books. Over time, he continued playing both formats, though cash games remain his primary focus. He also enjoys guaranteed tournaments, always looking for a big score.

His first recorded live cash came in 2021 at IPO San Marino. After a gap, he reappeared with cashes in Slovakia and Malta, building momentum for his recent successes.

In November 2023, Maio finished 17th in the UDSO Main Event out of 885 entrants, earning €3,650. This marked a significant deep run in a major tournament.

At The Festival Malta in 2025, Maio played cash games and participated in the Cash Game Challenge. At the week's end, he won the final flip-out, earning a full package to The Festival Bratislava. He then traveled to Banco Casino in Bratislava, where he primarily played cash games but also entered the Main Event as part of the package. He finished 39th in the Main Event and reached a final table in the 15-Grand tournament, placing 4th.

Remarkably, Maio again qualified for the final of the Cash Game Challenge in Bratislava. In the flip shootout, he lost every flip to secure victory, winning another €1,600 package. This back-to-back win highlighted his consistent performance in cash game challenges.

Maio is known for his patience and resilience, particularly in cash games. He adapts to both cash and tournament formats, with a preference for cash games but a willingness to attack tournaments with big guarantees. His approach emphasizes solid fundamentals and long-term participation over short-term glory.
