Overview

The 13-Out Wrap is one of the strongest straight draws in Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO). It refers to a situation where a player holds four cards that, combined with the board, give them 13 different cards that can complete at least one straight, and these outs often form multiple different straight combinations. This draw has a very high probability of hitting and offers rich playability.

Example

Suppose a player holds 5♠ 6♠ 7♥ 8♦, and the board is 4♣ 9♣. In this case, any 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 10 can make a straight, calculated as follows:

• Board: 4 and 9; hand: 5-6-7-8, making two straights: 4-5-6-7-8 and 5-6-7-8-9.
• Outs: 3 (4 cards), 5 (3 cards, since one 5 is in hand), 6 (3 cards), 7 (3 cards), 8 (3 cards), 10 (4 cards), totaling 4+3+3+3+3+4 = 20 cards, but note double counting? Actually, in a typical 13-Out Wrap, the number of outs is 13. A more standard example: hand J-T-9-8, board Q-7-2, then outs are K, J, T, 9, 8, 6, but the exact count needs to be calculated carefully. Features

• High Equity: With 13 outs, the chance of hitting by the turn or river is around 45% or higher (depending on opponent's range).
• Multi-Draw: Unlike a single straight draw, a 13-Out Wrap can draw to multiple different straights simultaneously, such as both open-ended and gutshot draws.
• Good Implied Odds: Because the draw is concealed and often makes the nuts, opponents have difficulty reading it, leading to excellent implied odds.

Strategy

In Omaha, when holding a 13-Out Wrap, you can often bet or raise aggressively, as even if you miss, you can profit from semi-bluffing. However, be cautious of opponents holding made hands or bigger draws. On the flop, if combined with a flush draw or a pair, it becomes an extremely strong draw.
