Poker Term

大盲位河牌彩虹面诈唬(BB River Bluff Rainbow)

指大盲注玩家在河牌圈面对彩虹面(公共牌无同花可能)发起的诈唬行动。

Term Background

"BB River Bluff Rainbow" is a combination of poker terms that describes an action in a specific scenario. "BB" refers to the Big Blind, "River" refers to the fifth community card, "Bluff" refers to a bluff, and "Rainbow" means that the flop or turn consists of three cards of different suits, making a flush draw impossible. This term is typically used to analyze the strategy of a Big Blind player bluffing on the river by exploiting the lack of a flush draw on a rainbow board.

Strategic Implications

On a rainbow board, since there is no possibility of a flush draw, the success rate of a river bluff may depend on other factors, such as straight draws, made pairs, or complete air. The Big Blind player has only invested the forced blind preflop, so their range is wider and includes more weak hands and draws. Bluffing on the river can represent holding a strong hand (such as a made straight or top pair), forcing opponents to fold. A rainbow board reduces the probability that opponents hold a flush draw, but the bluff still needs to consider the board structure and opponent range.

Typical Scenario

For example, the flop is K♠ 7♦ 2♣ (rainbow), the turn is 9♥ (still rainbow), and the river is 4♦. The Big Blind player checks on the flop and turn, then bets on the river. At this point, they may represent holding a K or a slow-played straight (like J-T), while actually holding air. The rainbow board makes it easier for opponents to believe they have a made hand because no flush draw exists.

Notes

  • A rainbow board does not guarantee a successful bluff; opponents may hold strong draws (like straight draws) or a pair.
  • The Big Blind player needs to assess the opponent's fold frequency and their own table image.
  • This term is rarely used alone in actual hand discussions and appears more often in teaching examples.
