Poker Term

大盲位河牌彩虹面平跟(BB River Flat Call Rainbow)

指大盲注玩家在河牌圈面对对手下注时,在彩虹公共牌面(四张花色均不同)上选择跟注而非加注的打法。

Term Composition

  • BB (Big Blind): The big blind position, which is the last to act preflop and the most disadvantaged postflop.
  • River: The fifth and final community card, the betting round after it is dealt.
  • Flat Call: Calling a bet or raise without reraising.
  • Rainbow: A board where all community cards are of different suits, eliminating any flush draw possibility (on the flop, three different suits; on the river, four different suits still counts as rainbow).

Strategic Meaning

This term describes a common defensive play: the big blind player, facing an opponent's bet on the river, chooses to flat call with medium-strength hands (such as one pair or two pair). Because the board is rainbow, there is no flush draw, so the opponent's bluffing range is narrower. Flat calling can induce the opponent to continue bluffing in later streets or avoid being value-raised. At the same time, the big blind's range is typically wide postflop, so flat calling protects the weaker parts of that range.

Typical Scenario

  • Board: A♠ 9♥ 5♦ 3♣ 2♠ (the turn brought 3♣, making the board rainbow? Actually, the river 2♠ is a different suit from the flop, but the final board has all four suits) — Note: Rainbow usually refers to the first three cards being different suits, but if the river brings a fourth suit, it's still called rainbow (no flush possible).
  • Big blind holds A♦ 9♣ (top two pair). On the river, opponent bets half pot. The big blind calls, reasoning that the opponent might be bluffing with top pair or a missed straight draw, and raising would drive out weaker hands.

Notes

  • This term is not an official name but a description of a specific combination of actions, commonly seen in strategy analysis articles or forum discussions.
  • In practice, it should be applied flexibly based on board structure, opponent tendencies, and stack depth, not mechanically.
