BB河牌加注-弃牌(湿牌面)(BB River Raise-Fold Wet)
BB River Raise-Fold Wet
大盲位在河牌湿牌面下执行加注,但面对对手的再加注或全下时选择弃牌的一种策略。
Concept
BB River Raise-Fold (Wet Board) describes a specific scenario: the big blind player, on the river facing a wet board (i.e., a board with multiple drawing possibilities, such as completed straight or flush draws), raises first but then folds if the opponent re-raises or shoves.
Usage Scenarios
This strategy is commonly used in the following situations:
- The big blind believes their hand is strong enough to raise for value or as a bluff, but not strong enough to call a re-raise.
- On a wet board, a re-raise from the opponent typically represents a very strong made hand (e.g., the nut straight or flush), while the big blind's raise may be a medium-strength hand or a bluff.
- The big blind's range includes some draws that improved on the river but are not nut-strength, so they raise as a semi-bluff but plan to fold to further action.
Example
Suppose the board is A♠ K♠ 10♠ 8♠ 2♥, meaning a flush draw has completed and a straight is possible (e.g., QJ or 97, etc.). The big blind holds Q♠ J♦ (top pair good kicker) and raises on the river, aiming to extract value from weaker flushes or straights. However, if the opponent shoves, the big blind deduces the opponent likely holds the nut flush (e.g., A♠ X♠) or a bigger straight, and thus folds.
Notes
- This strategy requires the big blind to have good range awareness and hand-reading skills to avoid incorrectly folding when the opponent is bluffing.
- Frequent use of this strategy may lead opponents to adjust, e.g., re-raising with a wider range, thereby reducing the fold frequency.
- Against weaker players, this strategy may be overused; careful selection of opponents and timing is necessary.
